Chemical Peel
FAQs
Chemical peels remove superficial layers of the skin by creating small, controlled wounds that resurface the skin. Chemical peels enhance the growth of healthy skin layers and treat various conditions, including hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture/skin impurities.
Chemical peels are more effective on fair-skinned, light-haired individuals. Chemical peels are more successful on patients with pale skin because their pigment is less irritating to the epidermis. However, you’re also more likely to have an uneven skin tone following the treatment.
After receiving a chemical peel, you may notice some redness, which usually fades in seven to fourteen days.
The results from a chemical peel vary considerably, from a few weeks to the rest of your lifetime. The effects of a chemical peel are dependent on many factors, but the most significant is strength: light or superficial effects last between 1 and 2 months, while more serious outcomes may take 6 to 12 weeks (or more).
After a chemical peel, you may experience some redness, pigment changes, swelling, sun sensitivity, and scarring.
